Portreath Arms Hotel

image13

Only a few paces from the sea and open to everyone. This is not an Olde Worlde pub with low oak beams on which to bump your head but it is traditional. Built in 1856, it is solid, sunny and spacious. The decorations are light and bright and the rooms are well proportioned and comfortable.

The beer is good, carefully kept and carefully served, while the freshly cooked meals more than satisfies the most ravenous of holiday appetites. In both the public bar and cosy lounge you can rub shoulders with the native Cornishman and enjoy the experience.

Holidays should provide an escape from restrictions and routine. Here, within obvious bounds, you may do as you please in an atmosphere which is friendly, unhurried and relaxing.

HIDDEN GEM - PORTREATH TRAIL 1

The disused airfield overlooking Portreath was very active during the second World War. After the war it was known as Nancekuke and used in part for chemical and biological weapon testing.
